Need for Speed: Most Wanted (commonly abbreviated to as NFS: MW) is a racing video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts. It is the ninth installment in the NFS series. The game features street racing-oriented game play, with certain customization options from the NFS:Underground series. The game is succeeded by Need for Speed: Carbon , which serves as a sequel to Most Wanted, and later Need for Speed : World , which features both the cities of Rockport and Palmont, making that game a successor to both Most Wanted and Carbon.
In this game, the police chases are included again for first time since Need for Speed: Hot pursuit 2. This is the first game in which the nitrous oxide meter is refilling automaticaly since its introduction in the Undrground series. Three distinct regions of Rockport are introduced alongside with a cycling weather. Racing events take places between the sunset and sunrise , unlike the events in Underground which take places at night.

Start With $40,000

If you have Need for Speed: Underground 2 installed on your computer and you begin a New Career, you will start off with $40,000. Dont need to install,just a save game will work as well.

Extra Money

When you're going to sell a car, always take it to the tune up shop and sell all the parts first. The selling price of the car is the same either way.

Easy Upgrades

Before you can do anything, you must win the Burger King Challenge. When you win it, you will unlock all unique parts (also called Junkman parts). Get any car and put all the parts except performance. Once you have your car the way you desire, go to the performance shop. Max out your car. Then, put the Junkman parts on. Max out your car again. Then put on the Junkman parts again. Your car should be fully upgraded.

Perfect Launch

Watch your tachometer when at the starting line. Aim your needle in the section in which it turns blue right when the race countdown ends to get a perfect launch and gain some time against your opponents.

Using Performance Upgrade Markers

The performance upgrade markers keep on upgrading, i.e., for example, if you've got Level 1 engine on your ride, & you've got an engine upgrade marker, then, the engine upgrade marker is Level 2 engine upgrade. So, if you think of saving the markers for the higher cars, it's cool. This is because, once you hve all the standard (One Stop Shop, or other) upgrades on your ride, then, these markers are Junkman, i.e., better than what is already on your ride. However, these Junkman upgrades don't do anything new to your brakes, tires & nitrous.

Bus Stop Trick

Look on your map, and a little north of the road connectinng Rosewood and Rockport you will see a triangular area. Go there, it's a bus terminal. You will see a ramp which leads to the rooftops of the buses. When you are in a pursuit, you can drive up that ramp and stop at the end of the buses, so you car overlooks the edge just a tiny bit. Make sure cops don't follow you up the ramp. Now what will happen is the cops will keep ramming the buses without you getting busted. This will allow you to get some big bounty. Then you can drive off the buses and escape anyway you like.

Best Place For Pursuits

From my experience with NFS Most Wanted, I have concluded that the best place for a pursuit is the Rosewood highway. Here there are enough pursuit breakers & the roads are quite wide. So, driving is a little easy and it is the ideal place to earn the "speed" related milestones(Speeding, Excessive Speeding, Reckless Driving). Then you can drive in the highway exit closest to the two stadium Pursuit Breakers. On the roundabout turn left, then turn in the stadium itself. Break BOTH pursuit breakers one after the other, then there is a cooldown spot there.

Unlock Burger King challenge ----- burgerking

Easy money:


When you defeat one of the opponents on the black-list, you'll get two marks to use on several different things. Don't use them on the Uniques early in the game. Instead, use them on the left or middle "Random" choices. Those should usually be large cash prizes, or the opponent's Pink Slip.
If you sell a car with upgrades on it, or sell the same car without any upgrades, you recieve the same price. So it doesn't take a genious to figure this out: if you have a car with mods on it that you want to sell, first go to the mod shops and sell the upgrades!


Maximum Cars:


The maximum amount of cars is 25. The maximum amount of cars you can buy is 10 but with the 15 blacklist vehicles that you can win you can have a maximum of 25 cars.


Easy Game Start:


If you want NFSMW to start up faster you can easily skip the movies when you star the game. You can skip the EA logo, Josie Maran's safety talk and the little racing movie.
1. Go to the directory where you installed NFSMW. (Standard it's C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Most Wanted)
2. Go to the map called "MOVIES" and look for the following files: attract_movie, ealogo and psa. Behind these filenames are also the language you choose to install the game with and either PAL or NTSC.
3. Rename these files (or delete them, this might cause problems updating NFSMW) by just putting something behind them. (I use _orig)
4. Run the game and you'll notice that the movies at the start wont be shown again.
